Workspace of the Week: Color coordinated
Workspace of the Week: Ikea hacked
Workspace of the Week: Ikea hacked
This week's Workspace of the Week is Thomas' office in Germany [1]:
[2]
After learning in the comments to our Unitasker Wednesday post [3]
that German's grow asparagus with skins so hearty they need to be
peeled (who knew?!!), I thought it only appropriate that today's
Workspace of the Week continue on this German theme.
Thomas' desk is a simple Ikea product with Ikea attachments (he
repurposed two large Blecka [4] hooks to make an amazing laptop stand
[5] and a set of Ekby Bjarnum [6] shelf brackets for the hanging
folders). Instead of giving up valuable desktop space for his monitor,
he mounted it straight to the wall behind the desk. In the full photo
set [7] you can see that he has hidden his printer and office supplies
in a hacked cupboard made out of Ikea supplies for less than $35.
Thank you, Thomas, for submitting your ingenious, inexpensive,
uncluttered office to our Flickr pool.
Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week?
Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool [8]. Check it out
because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don't
forget that workspaces aren't just desks. If you're a cook, it's
a kitchen; if you're a carpenter, it's your workbench.

Pack rats illustrated in comic books
Pack rats illustrated in comic books
The website Comics Alliance [1], as its name suggests, covers comic
books and all things related to the comic book industry. Reader Haley
called our attention to the site to check out the post "Super-Hero
Hoarders. The 7 Biggest Pack-Rats In Comics [2]."
Art often mimics life, so it's not surprising that fictional
characters struggle with clutter the same as everyone else. I really
liked #4, Rick Jones' illustrated mess. From the article [3]:
[4]
| At first glance, it's pretty easy to call Rick Jones out for
| hoarding super-hero contacts. Over the course of his existence in
| the Marvel Universe, he's sidekicked for the Hulk, Captain Marvel,
| Captain America, ROM: Spaceknight and the entire Avengers team,
| and been singled out as the bearer of the Destiny Force, which was
| so complicated that even Curt and Chris [5] won't touch it. In
| reality, though --- or at least, in one reality --- Rick's a
| straight up legitimate hoarder: In the alternate universe of
| "Future Imperfect," the Hulk ends up killing all of the other
| super-heroes and super-villains, leaving Rick to amass a pretty
| hefty collection of memorabilia
Check out the full article [6] to learn who took the top spot.
